Lingerie photos on stage - ideas for a tough setup

How to make some nice lingerie photos of Emily in underwear, when there is already a couple of kilowatts, blinding, ugly stage light pointed at her? That was the question at Photokina 2012 in Cologne, Germany.

The challenge was to shoot very unspectacular lingerie at a location, which is amongst the worst possible locations for lingerie photos: A stage in the middle of a trade fair.

We answered this challenge by incorporating a piece of blue fabric into the scene. And this is something, which you might be able to do as well when you shoot lingerie or similar under less than ideal conditions.

Have a look and let it inspire you.

The material for this video was filmed by the German number 1 of film lighting:

==> Achim Dunker of netlektionen.de

He was kind enough to film our show spontanously with a compact DSLR and a Manfrotto Video Monopod. Thanks a ton, Achim!!!

Many thanks also to our dear FeiFei, who helped us to change our scenes on stage lightening fast. Without FeiFei we would not have been able to finish even half of what we did this way.

I wish you good light!
